All his life, Josh has been performing both in and outside of the church, in Chattanooga, TN and beyond — to touring nationally and internationally, both solo and with a band. Josh’s band primarily consists of long-time multi-musician bandmate and brother Matt Gilbert; as well as guitarist Casey Bryant (brother-in-law), Sarah Bryant (sister), drummer Ben Phillips (cousin) among other musicians – all considered ‘family’ members. Although Josh Gilbert grew up singing classical music in choirs, his modern voice has a sound in the vein of such as NeedToBreathe, Sanctus Real, Tenth Avenue North, John Mark MacMillan, etc.. His original songwriting and influences also draw from mainstream acts like U2, Coldplay, Muse, Switchfoot, to Ray Lamontagne, Stevie Wonder, Sting, Paul Rogers…etc… With a passionate and soulful voice, Josh Gilbert’s music features a dynamic vocal range, creative and catchy hooks, tight rhythms and picturesque lyrics.
Josh Gilbert feels led to share his passionate and original music with a wide array of audiences, not only for churches but for all stages, venues & settings that will allow him to share his messages about life, love, spirituality and a relationship with God. Josh and the brothers have performed nearly 1000+ shows, and 44 states, 5 national/west-coast tours, etc.
Today Josh regularly travels around the US and internationally, connecting with many different churches as well as venues, including the likes of River’s Edge Community Church in Montreal, Canada; Mosaic Churches across the U.S.A. & Toronto, Ontario, Canada; as well as the featured performer for VOXTROPOLIS International Festival & IMN Conference in Detroit, MI for the past 6 years; also notable appearances at Riverbend Festival (TN), J-Fest (TN), & Forecastle Festival (KY).
“When he (Josh) is creating that moment on stage through music, he (Josh) is doing what God put him on earth to do…….Whenever I think about creating an event and I turn to the music component, I always think of Josh Gilbert. What I get from Josh — besides melodious vocals and great guitar — is absolute commitment to the performance. Great songs. Check. Great musicianship. Check. Great vocals. Check. But all of these things without the courage to commit to the performance amount to nothing. In my eyes, Josh is an artist in every sense of the word. The fact that I can say all of these things and still praise his humility, flexibility, and graciousness should tell you everything you need to know. I unreservedly recommend Josh Gilbert’s music.”

“We have always had Josh in as a solo or duo act in the past and thought it couldn’t get any better. Wow, were we wrong. The full band experience just blew us away. People walking by the club stopped dead in their tracks and were drawn in by the magnetic sounds”
Pete Blackshaw - Asheville Radio Cafe, 95.7 The Choice FM
“Josh and his band brought rockin’, high quality music to our worship service, with both original songs and praise and worship tunes. They were easy to work with and took direction well. Our congregation responded very positively to the band and we will be having them back on our stage in the future.”
Jim Jensen - Music Director, The River Community Church, Hartland, MI
