Red Arrow is a newly formed band from the Fort Wayne area. Influenced by bands like the Allman Brothers, Lynyrd Skynyrd and Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and singer-songwriters such as James Taylor, Neil Young and Clay Cook, Red Arrow has created their own unique sound. Their first show brought in over 60 music lovers. They bring a fresh new sound and energy to their shows.
Red Arrow was formed in May of 2014. Ever since Riley Demaree and Jonah Leatherman began learning guitar around the age eleven, they've always played together. When it came time to start their own original project they didn't look far for the other members. Riley's brother Alec had been taking piano lessons since age nine and was the obvious choice to command the keys and soon converted his classical training into a special style to mold the band's sound. They're friend Jake Bray had been playing guitar since age twelve and only just begun picking up his brothers bass. He added something special to the band with his unique approach to the bass as a skilled guitar player. Alex Cole, another long time friend, had only been playing drums for a year, with no prior lessons when he joined the band. Alex being the last puzzle piece to what became "Red Arrow" the band was eager to play their first show. After practicing their batch of originals and a handful of covers for only two weeks, they played their first gig. Since then the band has continued to play live, hosted their own festival and recorded their first album set to release at their Album release show next week. They're sound has been described as Southern Rock, Americana and everything 70's but they prefer not to be held down by one genre and aim to make each new song sound different and simply better than the last.
